ePortfolio Work in Progress

Today we showcased our work in progress and it was interesting to see the different perceptions of  what an ePortfolio is.  Here is a link to my short presentation on my ePortfolio to the class.

Eportfolio WIP

My perception of the ePortfolio is for it to capture my journey and how I evolve over the 2 years.  It is important that I illustrate this in a way that is easy for assessors but also for other learners.

On reflection and comparing my work to others I feel that a clean cut, simplified appearance is paramount.  I have decided to remove the gallery I had on my homepage to streamline the appearance and I have also tidied the drop down menus.  Initially I had Learning Theories Week 1 appear when you click on the category Learning Theories in the primary menu but now I just have Week 1.  As the saying goes ‘less is more’.

Another user added a Back to Top button at the end of each post.  This is a great idea and I intend to implement this in my portfolio so users can easily scroll back up to the top of pages/posts that are particularly long.  Again, facilitating the user is vital.

The Twitter timeline was also another popular addition to other learners portfolios.  I have recently started to reuse Twitter and I am following users in the areas of education so adding this to my sidebar may prove constructive in terms of enhancing my learning and my ePortfolio.
